Join us for beading class, ages 4 and up! We will be making 3 items during this session with the thousands of beads of various shapes. During this class, which will not exceed an hour, each person will design and assemble a pen, a key chain and a bookmark.. If you’d like, you can also add a soft Pom Pom to make your creation fuzzy to hold. Make these for yourself or give them to a parent or sibling for an upcoming birthday or anniversary. What if you don’t have any keys for a chain? You may substitute and make two pens and a bookmark as an example, for the same price. Cost of the class, including all materials and instructions/assistance is $10 per person. For adults, I do have additional substitution items such as bottle openers and wine corks. Adults who choose either of these options will pay $12 for their 3 items, as the hardware is significantly more expensive. Class will be held in the pavilion on Saturday, August 3rd at 2pm. 

Join us for the ever so popular Poker Run!! A great opportunity to meet new people and or catch up with old friends (lots of time waiting in line). This year we will have name tags and a little game (with a raffle prize) to play in line. Come to lodge patio at 6:30 on Saturday with a $5 buy-in and to register (and hopefully support them by buying a drink!). Players will draw one card in each of 5 locations: first and the last stop will be the lodge. At each neighborhood stop, there will be snacks and/or desserts and lines of people getting a card or food/drink. There will be no beer or wine provided, so BYOB. Cash prizes for best hand and raffle winner. 

 

This event will run rain or shine, as we have a back-up location plan for inclement weather.

The Summer Village Book Club meets in the Lodge Library at 7:00 PM one Sunday each month, usually the first. Residents gather to discuss selected books of all flavors, and of course to socialize. Each meeting finds members discussing plot lines, comparing and contrasting readers’ perceptions, pointing out which parts made readers laugh, cry, puzzled, confused, surprised......and so much more. If you like to read and are interested in a fun and stimulating discussion group - please join us. You are encouraged but not required to bring a snack or beverage to share. This month's book is Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.

Trick or treat! Get your candy buckets ready... The kids of summer village will be dressed in their spookiest attire and knocking at your door.

Meet at the Lodge at 9:00 AM. Fishing will be from one of the three docks or the shoreline around the docks (not from the beach or the shore in front of the waterfront cottages). Prizes will be given in 3 age categories: 8 and under, 9-12, and 13-17. Prizes for person with most fish caught and the longest fish caught per age category. Worms will be provided, but please bring your own fishing equipment. If you need to borrow some equipment, or would like to help out with recording catches and/or baiting hooks, removing fish from the hooks, and keeping the hooks out of the kids, please contact Rob Russell at Robbie_F_Russell@Yahoo.com

Come make yourself an ice cream sundae with all the toppings! *there will be toppings that are not allergy friendly (I.e. peanut butter, Reese’s pieces), so if you have an allergy, please come 5 minutes early so that we can serve you first to ensure there’s no cross contamination. 

This is a beginner class. We will complete two bracelets during this session with thousands of beads of various shapes, shapes, and colors. All proceeds will benefit the Cassidy Patrice Baracka Rainbow Brigade Charity.  Email donnabaracka@yahoo.com if you plan to attend. 

 

Teams of two (come with a partner OR come solo and be paired up with someone) will compete against one another to complete tasks......all while trying to avoid their assassins. All ages welcome! Children under 8 will benefit with an adult as a partner.

This Thursday Mike Race (MooseJuice Band), Jim Kasparian (MooseJuice band), and Bill Swanson (Stew Bones Band) will do a special acoustic show at the lodge to gear up for our fall/winter season and practice our vocal parts, jams, and leads. We are not sure what songs yet but you can bet on some Grateful Dead tunes being in the mix!

What’s better than stadium-tiered seating in a climate controlled environment to play your favorite video games? Time to get your game on! 

Kids & kids-at-heart of Summer Village... this one's for you. 

 

 

Equipment Needed: Players should bring Nerf guns (one or as many as you can carry), 50 Nerf pellets (maximum per person), eye protection

 

Game Play: Players will be split into two, each with a team leader. The team leader will choose who will be on their team, and teams will alternate between being "hiders" and "hunters". Each round will begin with the hiders having three minutes to hide (no going on roads). The hunters will hunt down the hiders with their Nerf guns. If a hider is shot with a Nerf gun, they must sit on the wall by the patio and stay there for the remainder of the round. Each round lasts up to 30 minutes, and we will record how long it took the hunters to shoot all of the hiders. After the first round, the hunters become hiders, and vice versa. We continue this process until 1pm.

 

Clean Up: At 1pm all players will help clean up the Nerf pellets. Everyone who brings back at least 50 to the beach will earn themselves a popsicle. 

Welcome back our own Steve Tracy and the Casual T's for a fun afternoon of great music. Listen from your beach chair, under a tent or by the pool.

This fun event is open for everyone ages 7-13 (willing to do younger if they are capable and willing to chance getting hit in the face by a stray wiffle ball). PLEASE SHOW UP AT WHITE PINE KNOLL BY 9:30am. If you show up late this really hinders and delays things. But we will make it work. The tournament should take a couple of hours. Pizza and water provided for participants.

If your kids or kids' friends plan on playing, please let Chris McCarthy (978-808-0884) know so we have an idea of the number of kids playing. SPREAD THE WORD. There is an engraved trophy on the line.
